The time has come for Malaysians to be aware of their yearly budgeting now that Budget 2026 has been announced at Dewan Rakyat by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on the 10th of October 2025.

With an increased budget allocation from the previous 2025 budget RM421 billion [2] to RM470 billion for this year, the initiative focuses on various aspects such as economic reformation, governance efficiency, and the needs of the citizens. [1]

How does Budget 2026 Address the Cost of Living?

  • Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) & Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) [1] [4]

- A combined of RM15 billion has been allocated for STR and SARA.

- Increased STR aid to RM2,200 per year.

  • RAHMAH sale is still maintained with the discount of 30% off for daily life necessities. [1] [3]

  • RON95 subsidy maintained RM1.99/litre price for Malaysians [1] [3]

  • Special Financial Aids [1] [3]:

- RM500 for government workers grade 15 and below including under contract.

- RM200 for government pensioners.

  • Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP) RM150 to help with school necessities. [1] [3]
