What is the Cooling-Off Period?

The Cooling-Off Period is a waiting period designed to provide an additional layer of protection for your account. This ensures that any changes made are authorized and initiated by you as the account holder.

Think of it as a short pause that reinforces security, ensuring everything is in place before you continue banking confidently with Be U.

When Does the Cooling-Off Period Apply?

The Cooling-Off Period activates when you perform certain actions on your Be U account. Here’s a breakdown of the actions and how long the COP will be implemented for each of them:

  1. Opening a Be U account - 12 hours
  2. Changing your phone number registered with Be U - 24 hours
  3. Logging-in from a new device for the first time - 24 hours
  4. [NEW] Increasing your transaction limit for transferring to other account, JomPAY and DuitNow QR - 12 hours

For actions such as (1) opening a Be U account, (2) changing your registered phone number, or (3) logging in from a new device, a Cooling-Off Period will apply. During this period, you won’t be able to access the features or make any transactions on Be U. This temporary restriction ensures that any changes made are initiated by you as the account holder.

For more information about (4) increasing your transaction limit, refer to the section below.

Adjust Your Be U Transaction Limit with Ease

Managing your transaction limits on the Be U app has always been convenient. You can set and adjust the transaction limit for each category to suit your needs.

What’s New?

If you’re increasing your transaction limit for transfers to other accounts, JomPAY, or DuitNow QR, a Cooling-Off Period now applies. Here’s how it works:

  • When you increase your limit, the change will take effect 12 hours later.
  • During this 12-hour Cooling-Off Period, your current limit will still apply, so you can continue transacting as usual while waiting for the Cooling-Off Period to be over.

No Waiting for Certain Changes

  • Lowering your transaction limit? No Cooling-Off Period here—your changes will apply immediately.
  • Similarly, increasing your limit for transfers within your own Be U account doesn’t require waiting.

Let's Break it Down

Scenario 1: Increasing Your Limit Beyond the Default

  • If your current transaction limit is RM1,000 (default) and you want to raise it to RM2,000, the Cooling-Off Period applies. The RM2,000 limit will become active after 12 hours.

Scenario 2: Lowering Your Limit or Staying Below the Default

  • Reducing your limit? For example, if your current limit is RM1,000 and you want to lower it to RM900, the change is applied immediately—no waiting needed.

What Happens After the Cooling-Off Period?

Once the Cooling-Off Period ends, you can:

✅ Enjoy your access to Be U features.

✅ Carry out your banking transactions with confidence and peace of mind.

Your Security, Our Priority.
